RECANATI

City of Poetry

« Sempre caro mi fu quest’ermo colle, e questa siepe, che da tanta parte dell’ultimo orizzonte il guardo esclude… Così tra questa immensità s’annega il pensier mio: e il naufragar m’è dolce in questo mare. »

Giacomo Leopardi – poeta

Our school is in Recanati in the Marche region of central Italy which is rich in beautiful scenery, interesting cultural events, gastronomic, folkloric festivals and magnificent works of art. Marche is the native land of famous figures such as Giacomo Leopardi, Raffaello, Rossini, Bramante so it is an ideal place for both an unforgettable and convenient holiday and an intensive study of Italian language and culture.

Recanati is an ancient town with architectural and cultural treasures. Being located in a green hilly area among fortresses, castles, medieval villages that are rich in history and culture, it is welcoming and quiet, just 12 km from the Adriatic Sea and 85 km to the National Park of Sibylline Mountains. The contemporary town, despite a legend that dates the city back to a Roman colony (“Recina sum, peperit romana colonia” was written in ‘500 under the coat of arms of the city), was founded in the late twelfth century when the lords of three hills decided to join forces. The three hills (Monte Volpino, Monte San Vito and Monte Morello), retain their ancient names and construction features.

The ancient University of Camerino dates back to 1336 and it is well-known for its scientific research opportunities and cultural life .

Recanati’s central location allows you to reach quickly the famous places nearby such as Urbino, San Marino, Rimini, Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, or others, relatively far away, like Florence, Rome, Bologna, Venice, Naples and Capri .

The School is located in the historical town centre and has bright and well-equipped classrooms; there is a library, video library, internet point, WI-FI, projection room and there are also rooms for study, meetings and leisure activities.
