The PLIDA exams certify proficiency in Italian as a foreign language and assess the ability to use the language at different levels of competence, from A1 to C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

There are two PLIDA certification programs: PLIDA and PLIDA Juniores.
The PLIDA certification program, aimed at adults, offers exams for levels A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2.
The PLIDA Juniores exams, on the other hand, are intended for boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 18. The PLIDA Juniores tests are designed with texts and language use contexts appropriate to the age of the candidates. The exam levels offered in the PLIDA Juniores certification are A1, A2, B1, and B2.
